Citations and Ranking

An article "Using citations to Rank.." is an interesting read.

This article wonders how Veltech, a private university in Chennai, is ranked #1 in Asia on the basis of citations. The authors of that article should read this article.

Further, everyone keeps on changing the methodology. For example, the counting of "kilo-paper issue, papers mainly in particle physics with hundreds or thousands of authors and hundreds or thousands of citations." Read about it here.

Dear Friends,

I am working as an assistant Professor at IIIT after my ph.D fir six years in 6000 AGP. Is there any possibility for me to go the next level. I completed one Ph.D student 5 Papers after my ph.D. Without project I am not able to go the next level. The order issued based sarangi committee made our life worst. But in IITS Asssitant professor AGP is 8000. This kind of rules are not there. No one is ready to represent our problems
