Hello Sir
I hope you are doing fine.
I am in the waiting list for MSc programme in Chemical Engineering department. Do I have any chance of getting a confirmation and till which date should I wait for it?
Regards.

As mentioned, the admissions website will display your status by the evening of June 18. Check whether your status is wait listed and then post again in this blog.

The reason I am saying so is because sometimes the admissions meeting removes people from waiting lists or gives admissions directly to the people in the waiting list.

Therefore, all lists displayed by the department is provisional only and should change after the admissions meeting.

Thanks

Giridhar

Hi sir,

I gave the interview for phd in management studies and am waiting for the offer letter/results. I read your blog and as you said I was expecting to find out my status by 18 june evening. However, There are no new updates on my admissions login account so shall I infer that I have been rejected? Or does iisc inform the rejected candidates about their rejection too? Kindly answer my question.

Thank you.
Sam

Dear Sir,
I have the same doubt as the candidate above (Sam). There are no updates / results announced after I login to my account. Does that mean that I have not been shortlisted for the offer (rejected)? I do not see any results updated. Please help by clarifying. It is very confusing as we do not have access to the shortlisted candidates list, so we do not know if we have to keep waiting. (I too was interviewed for DoMS).

Thank you very much sir,
PhD Candidate

If your name does not have it, then it means you have not been selected.

Offer letters were also sent by email this afternoon.

The management studies selected six Ph.D students. Three girls and three boys. The names are displayed in the admission section.

Dear Sir,

After I login to my account, the status is still "Interview call letter sent". Please let me know if this means that I am "Rejected"? Should I assume that my status is "Rejected" instead?

Thanks and regards,
Prospective student.

Dear sir is the list of selected candidates for PhD at Nanoscience and engineering is out?

Upon login the status shows interview call letter is sent..There is no info about offer letter/selection/rejection!

Please clarify

professor has clarified that all results for all departments have been posted. If offer letter is not shown, it means it is rejected.

Respected Sir
When will admission offers be made based on aieee results? Please reply as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Dear Sir
I would like to ask why another set of offer is being made to iit jee candidates when councelling is still pending for jee candidates?
Wouldn't it be better if offers are made to aieee candidates first?
Thank you

The third set of offers will be made depending on the number of people who attend the second counselling. With that the offers for JEE and AIPMT will be complete. Then, the seats will be filled by AIEEE.

Tarun Sharma: It appears you do not have much chance. The last date for paying fees is July 10 but it requires one M.Sc student to turn down the offer. It is not likely to happen.

sir
the ug admission process is being delayed. i got bs physics in kanpur with rank of 2020. my kvpy rank is 705. i am interested in iisc. due to lack of online counseling the process is being delayed and only uninterested candidates are being called. the last date to surrender iit seats is july 4th. can the process be accelerated to prevent seat wastage

i got bs physics in kanpur with rank of 2020. my kvpy rank is 705.

With your rank, you have no chance in iisc. All general seats are filled in iisc.

@Anonymous of June 28 12.20 am
Who told you that all general seats are filled in iisc?

Hello Sir,
i want to know that is there any way to get scholarship(other than UGC) or to work part time while studying in IISc,
I am IIT graduate and I have been selected for PhD research program, i am keen to join IISc and i am very much interested in research work, the only thing that is hindering my decision is the financial side.
Also are there any chances that UGC will increase the scholarship in upcoming months?

Thanks,

anon said...

@anon above: if you looking for some financial support above what the institute/your own scholarship provides, there may not be much possibilities. But talk to your phd advisor, and usually some additional amount (few thousand rupees with per month) may be given as research expenses if he/she has a research grant.

Thanks Vishu,
Is getting extra grants common in IISc? shall i count on it?

Hello Sir,
I have been selected for mtech. in chemical engineering at one of the IITs. Recently, i received a mail from IIT for submission of medical fitness certificate. In this regard, i would like to inform you that I am suffering from partial colour blindness. So, would it be an obstacle for admission into mtech.?

I am planning to pursue mtech followed by Phd and have a career in academics. Hopefully, colour blindness wont pose any problem for the career i am planning for.

Please do reply and clear my doubts.

I dont think its common. Check with grad students of your dept.

I have got admission in Mtech @CEDT. I am curious to know if IISc facilitates/allows students to take up part time work to source income other than the 8K stipend amount ? Also i have got a mail stating the reporting date at IISc is changed to July 28th this email however is not received by many others who got the admission can you confirm this change if you are aware of this.

Thanks.
